Oh that's funny! At first - your mind fills in the missing letters. I thought - 'whats so funny about wrought iron furniture?' Then I looked again. What a hoot!

I love examples of this kind of phonetic spelling mistake. Makes you realize that people don't see words on the page as often as they should!

It also makes you see what I see every day since I teach freshman English...for many people, English is an aural and oral language, but not a written one. "Wrought" sounds like "rod" to the aurally-oriented.

College freshmen writing sentences like this:

Are cat loves to chase mice.

is a normal part of my day.

Sometimes I get all "rod" up about that!
