Calling Norma Rae...

Ugly things happening at work. Betrayal-level things.

Since I will only talk about work in generalties, I'll just say that this reminds me that the powerful always have power over the powerless, no matter what reassurances the powerful might make.

And management always assumes that there's more and better where you came from.

(Don't fret -- I am not on the verge of losing my job. At least I don't think I am. Metaphorically, however, perhaps I am. Because it's never going to be the same again.)

That is pretty much my philosophy of life, unfortunately.

I hope things somehow get better.

Sorry to hear about the work stuff. Things for teachers in T-town are pretty bad as well.

Well, I assume that you mean that it's your philosophy of life that this is what we're always up against and strugging against...

...as opposed to you're in power and this is how you do things!!!!

I think this new plan is going to be the very definition of disaster. But I am powerless.

Thanks for the sympathies, guys.

I think these problems are universal, certainly not limited to one profession/industry.

Unfortunately.

True that this happens everywhere. Still blows, though. We should always fight like the devil the impulse to think well of management.

Stay safe.

So is there a Norma Rae around to fight for the "little people?"

Bee -- yes. We had a Norma Rae. And this time last year, they destroyed her, professionally and emotionally. What's happening now is a continuation of that mess. After we had kinda been promised that the bloodshed was over.

In that regard, I suppose my title was a little off.
